Alexander Billet is a writer and activist, whose fiction, poetry, and criticism covers themes of the theatre, film, and music; movements in modernism and popular culture; and the materialities of space, history, and memory. He has published in the Los Angeles Review of Books_, Salvage, Jacobin, In These Times, Real Life, Popula, and Imago, amongst many other outlets. In 2022, 1968 Press brought out his first book, a timely study of the role of music in social movements: Shake the City: Experiments in Space and Time, Music and Crisis.
